The story of the Box
From a fire to a box for a friend.
A fire destroyed a friend’s garden storage box. She asked me if I could build her a new one.
The concept is simple, source easily attainable materials with minimal environmental impact and keep the costs to a minimum. The final result realized is a sleek, functional storage box that fits well out in the wild, whether its a garden, a back yard, a basement or where ever a storage box is needed.
Fabrication Works
Simplistic design, quality craftsmanship.
Dados and box joints showcase the attention to detail forming strong connection bonds for a quality fit and finish. Wooden dowels, screws, nuts and bolts are used for final assembly.
Two separate boxes are joined forming the storage box. Dado and box joints connect the components fasten with wood dowels and screws. Nuts and bolts connect the two halves forming a complete box. All pallet material is treated with a long lasting impregnating sealant.
Why the pallet as a fabrication material?
Grade 1A Euro pallets are of the highest-quality in terms of the quality spectrum, clean with minimal imperfections. Durable heat treated rough cut timber with pre-determined lengths. Allowing for an array of useable components with minimal waste.
